WASHBURN – In a good start for the season, the Central McLean Cougars returned home Saturday evening with two wins under their belt following the McLean County Shootout. The sweeps – 63-48 against Bowman County and 72-40 against Beulah – helped kick off the season for the team which ended their season last year 20-4. Much to the consternation of the Bowman County Bulldogs, the Lady Cougars let forth a barrage of two-pointers that continued during the first half of the first quarter Friday. A three-pointer from Ashtyn Smith broke that record; in all, the Lady Cougars held a 17-point lead. While Bowman County made several attempts at two- and three-point baskets,
they were all in vain.
