Lady Trojans get the Comets at home

The Comets hosted the TL-M-M Trojans in a double-header last Tuesday night. It was an eventful night of basketball. The girls junior varsity game went in to overtime. The boys junior varsity pulled out a victory and the varsity games kept the crowd entertained as well. The Comet girls struggled on offense against the Lady Trojans of Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky. "Offensively, we need to find some baskets," stated head coach Toni Cottingham. "We are getting good looks off our offensive sets, but need to start converting these shots into points." The head coach explained that the Comets’ shooting was ice cold. "We missed too many bunnies and they were shots that could have changed the outcome of this game." The 16-year head coach was, however, pleased with her team’s defense. "We played solid defense, holding them to just 14 field goals. I’m happy with the progression our defense is making." She added, "Individuals are getting comfortable and they are starting to make big plays on the defensive side."
