It wasn’t a huge surprise to Central McLean Coach Kevin Dockter  that Kidder County would come out playing hard Friday night.
The Pirates blanked the Cougars on their way to a 30-0 9-man grid win on their home turf.
“I had picked Steele to be one of the top teams at the beginning of the year,” said Dockter. And even though the Pirates have suffered from some injury losses this season, their line is still formidable.
“Up front, we just got handled,” said Dockter. “We couldn’t stop the run again, which has been a thorn in our side.
“We spent way too much time on defense,” he said.
The Pirates used the ground to pick up its yards and TDs, as Cody Mehlhoff struck first for the Pirates with a sweep to the left side for the 11-yard score three minutes into the first stanza.
