Managing Westridge is par for the course

A former Underwood High School and Lake Region State College golfer, Krista Blotske spends a lot of time out at the Westridge Golf Course links.
She’s not actually getting to play a lot of golf, but as manager of the club house since June 1, at least she’s out at the golf course.
“Sometimes I come out on my days off,” she said with a smile. That’s when she gets to get in a round or two.
Having earned her associate’s degree in sign language from Lake Region, Krista wanted to move back to Underwood before starting school at Bismarck State College (and eventually going to Dickinson State College). She was looking for a job, and she figured being the manager of a place she spent many hours as a high school student would be a good fit.
So far, things have been going pretty well, said Krista, as she was working on putting together the Westridge Classic Golf Tournament, which was this past Sunday. The last time the Classic was held at Westridge was in 2002, noted Krista, and she thought it needed to come back this year, even though she had never really organized a tournament by herself before.
“It went really well. We didn’t have a lot of teams, but we had teams from Bismarck and Minot, and everybody had a great time. They said they would be bringing other people back for the tournament next year,” said Krista.
