Shiloh knocks off Cougars in double header

By Suzanne Werre, BHG News Service

The Central McLean Cougars ran into some tough competition in their first outing of the season, losing both games of a double-header to Shiloh-Strasburg-Linton-HMB  by scores of 12-5 and 10-0 last Friday. Shiloh rapped seven hits and took advantage of six Cougar fielding errors in game two, as they rolled to the 10-0 win, with Jared Mitzel taking the loss on the hill for the Cougars. The opener saw Shiloh jump to a 7-1 lead the first inning on their way to a 12-5 win, Shiloh’s Brooks Flyburg taking the win and Central McLean’s Jeremy Wirtz being dealt the loss. Despite the losses, Cougar coach Daren Kurle was upbeat about the games and what’s ahead for the team.
