Singer awarded 9-man senior athlete of the year

By Mary Hefta

Last weekend at the Dakota Bowl at the Fargo Dome, state champions were crowned in all four high school football divisions. Although Central McLean senior Grant Singer would liked to have been on the field playing his last football game of his high school career, he was able to stand proudly on the turf after the 9-man game to receive the very prestigious honor of being chosen the 9-man senior athlete of the year. There are six regions in 9-man football, and one senior was chosen from each region. "After I heard my name being called, I thought about all my coaches and teammates throughout the years and all they have taught me," Singer said. "Everyone has made me who I am today. I was honored to be nominated along with five other great athletes."
