Speedway postpones opener
The McLean County Speedway’s opener that was scheduled for this Friday night has been postponed due to coronavirus pandemic guidelines prohibiting large gatherings of people. On the speedway’s Facebook page, it was announced that the startup of the 2020 season has been postponed, with the hope that the speedway will be able to host large events soon.
Over the weekend speedway personnel were working on the plumbing to get the newlyconstructed restrooms and kitchen up and ready for the public, but the public will have
to wait until the Speedway is able to hold racing again. Lighting improvements were also made at the Speedway, extensive finishing work has been done on the new building
at the Speedway.
