The Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky girls opened the scoring with a Sophie Sparrow bucket a little over a minute into the game against the Comets Tuesday night,  then the Comets went on a 15-0  run sparked by a field goal from McKenna Wilson to take the lead and never look back as they rolled to a 54-25 win.
The duo of Mackenzie Snyder and Taysha Snyder pummeled the Trojans from inside and out, scoring 19 and 18 points, respectively for the Comets.
Sophie Sparrow’s 10 points paced the Trojans on the scoreboard, as the Trojans were relegated to just two points in the first stanza and the fourth.
Despite picking up key district win, Underwood Coach Jared Kautzman was not thrilled with his team’s game-play.
The Comets didn’t play their best, noted Kautzman, but they played well enough to win.
His players agreed, as the congregated after the game. The consensus was the same as Kautzman’s – they didn’t hustle like they should have.
