The long and winding Rhoads

The Cougars still have only one state track meet qualifier, but co-coach Ty Kruger is confident more Cougars will be either reaching qualifying marks this week at the Hazen Last Chance meet, or by place at the regional meet Saturday.
The Central McLean girls dominated the relay events Thursday afternoon, winning all four of the contests at the Underwood High School meet.
Runners Taysha Snyder, Maggie Eng, Lilly Eng, Leah Jacobson, Lexie Jo Jacobson, Anna Skachenko, Taya Hornberger and Kaleigh Naser filled the spots on the four relays, picking up 40 points on the team’s way to a third-place finish.
“All four of the girls relays are close, so if they don’t qualify by time at Hazen, we’re hoping to get those at regionals by place,” said Kruger. “And the boys, we’re hoping to get three of those (relays) at regionals by place.”
The top three finishers at Saturday’s regional meet will qualify for next week’s state meet.
