Titans fall in wild 16-12 battle against Renville County
In a game filled with momentum swings, offensive fireworks, and more than its share of defensive miscues, the Garrison Titans came up just short in a 16-12 loss to Renville County on July 2.
The nine-inning slugfest saw the Titans outhit the home team 13-11 but ultimately be undone by seven errors and a late-inning surge by Renville, who scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth to erase a Garrison lead and secure the win.
The Titans looked in control for much of the second half of the game, rallying from an early 8-3 deficit after a big fourth inning by Renville County.
Garrison responded with four runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to take an 11-9 lead heading into the eighth.
Treyson Iglehart and Grady Crawford were the offensive stars for Garrison.
