Titans go 1-2 at sectionals

By Stu Merry, BHG News Service

There wasn’t a team at sectionals that the Garrison-Max-Central McLean Titans couldn’t play with. That’s the mindset of Coach Nathan Turck in talking about his team that went 1-2 at the Section 6 Tournament this past week in Watford City. "In fact the team that won it (Crosby), we beat three times out of three games," he said. The Crosby Cubs surprised a few fans and teams at sectionals, including pre-tournament favorite Renville County. Crosby will represent the section at this week’s Class B Legion State Tournament in Beulah. The Titans fell to Makoti in the opening round 6-1. This past Thursday, facing elimination, the Titans took out Ray 5-1. Later that day, the Titans’ season came to an end at the hands of Renville County. Turck said the kids played hard, but came up short.
