Trapper Jacobs had the hot hand Thursday night at Solen as he poured in 47 points as the Trojans defeated the Sioux, 66-38.
With the win, the Trojans raise their record to 3-1. Solen remains winless at 0-4.
Jacobs started early as he scored two from just inside the free throw line, 14 seconds into the game.  From there he was like a magnet for the ball as his team mates found him a number of times for lay-ups. He scored the Trojans’ first 12 points before JP Pizarro broke loose for a lay-up, with 1:26 remaining in the first quarter, to put the Trojans up 14-8 at the end of one.
The Trojans defense held the Sioux to nine points the second quarter and 17 for the first half, as Jacobs continued his offensive show scoring 18 in the second quarter. Gunner Jacobs drove the lane for two at the 1:56 mark to put the Trojans up, 31-17. The Trojans led at the break, 34-17.
The Sioux man-to-man defense started to contain Jacobs somewhat the third quarter but his team mates started to take a few more shots. AJ Ketterling and Gunner Jacobs scored lay-ups late in the quarter as they found themselves open under the bucket.
The Trojans led at the end of three, 51-30, with Trapper totaling 41 so far.
