The girls two-mile relay team ran a personal best time Friday at the North Dakota State Track and Field Meet in Bismarck, bringing home a fifth-place finish in the 3200-meter race.
The Cougar girls were ranked seventh by time going into the race, bumping up a couple places when the race mattered the most. They finished with a time of 10:13.92.
Participants in that relay were Emily Eichhorst, Maggie Eng, Mackenzie Snyder and Taysha Snyder.
Taysha and Mackenzie Snyder also competed in the 800-meter open, which was won by Hillsboro-Central Valley’s Gracie Wright with a time of 2:17.12.  Neither Snyder made it up onto the podium, but both ran personal bests, according to Central McLean Coach Lee Weisgarber.
The 400-meter relay team dropped the baton, noted Weisgarber, so the team lost time with that miscue.
