Underwood Comets take two

Two game – two wins. That’s how Underwood Head Coach Jared Kautzman likes to get things started.
And that’s what the Comet girls did this week as they bumped off Glen Ullin-Hebron and Warwick teams at the McLean County Shootout held in Wilton Friday and Saturday.
The Comets faced a physical Warwick team Saturday, finding themselves at the free throw line 32 times, where they cashed in on 20 of their free shots.
“The goal is to always try to get to the free throw line at least 20 times,” said Kautzman, referring to his players being able to drive to the hoop and draw a foul.
Taysha Snyder paced the Comets in scoring with 17 points against Warwick, as three Comets posted double-digits in scoring. Mackenzie Snyder was good for 14 points and McKenna Wilson for 13, as the Comets were able to score from inside and outside the perimeter, Wilson draining a pair of treys.
Madison Leaf led the Warriors with 16 points, while Whisper Gourd tossed in 15.
