Wildcats shut down Trojans

The Trojans slipped to 0-7 in region play and to 4-19 overall as they were defeated by Center/Stanton 3-1 last Tuesday on the Trojans’ home court. The Wildcats raised their region record to 6-1 and 15-14 overall.
Flasher is at the top of Region 5 with a 6-0 record and Center/Stanton is second.
The Trojans have just four matches left. Oct 21 is a home match with Drake/Anamoose; Oct. 24, the girls travel to Standing Rock; Oct. 29 is a home match with Bismarck Shiloh Christian; and Nov. 5 is at Wilton/Wing.
The first set against the Wildcats saw the Trojans with a one or two-point lead early. Then the score was tied eight times before the Wildcats took a 15-14 lead on a kill from Kathryn Kraft.
Teanna Kraft followed with a couple of kills to put the Wildcats up 17-14 and they never looked back from there and coasted to win, 25-17.
 The second set saw the Trojans take a 2-0 lead after an ace from Miya Smalls. Then a 10-1 run for the Wildcats put the Trojans in a hole they could not dig themselves out of, as the Wildcats coasted to the win 25-13.
