Wilson, Klain place in four

The athletes at Thursday’s Central McLean Invitational in Underwood faced some strong, switching winds, raising finishing times and making for a tough time meeting state-qualifying marks in both track and field events.
Distance runner Savannah Rhoads and the sprinters on the girls 400-meter relay team paced the Cougars with second place finishes on the day. Rhoads finished the two-mile race in
16:15.76, while the 400-relay team made up of Lexie Jacobson, Kaleigh Naser, Mackenzie Snyder and Taysha Snyder finished their short race with a time of :54.58.
Senior McKenna Wilson placed in all four of her events, placing fourth in the 300 and 100-meter hurdles, as well as seventh in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump.
In boys action, Pa rker Christensen led the Cougars individually with two second place finishes, taking runner-up in the discus with a toss of 130-4, and in the shot put with a throw
of 39-7.5.
