The Central McLean Cougars struggled to put the bat to the ball Monday afternoon when they hosted the Watford City Wolves in fast-pitch softball, falling by the score of 14-0 in Underwood.
The Wolves started off quickly, tallying three runs the first inning while blanking the Cougars at bat.
The Wolves continued their offensive tear the second inning, capitalizing on their ability to steal an extra base or two after getting on, plating five runs in the second frame.
The Cougars would give up six more runs in the game while remaining scoreless, giving Watford City’s Mikka Haugeberg the win from the hill.
Zoe Smalls took the loss for the Cougars.
“The girls had bad things happen at bad times.  Some mental errors and fielding errors got us down early and we couldn’t get anything going on offense,” said Central McLean Co-Coach Kyle Hunt.
