First community meeting held for Wilton school expansion project
Wilton Public School held its first of many community meetings to discuss the district’s new plan to accommodate the district’s growth at its facility.
The Washburn Public School Board of Education has moved hire Consolidated Construction Co. Inc. to move forward with a plan up updating the school’s infrastructure.
McLean County renews police contract for Washburn
M c L e a n C o u n t y Commissioners approved a policing contract to provide 7,103.96 hours of dedicated law enforcement time to the city of Washburn in 2023.
North Dakota Sunshine
In August, North Dakota shines with a beautiful yellow blanket of sunflowers in almost every county of the state. These happy flowers are in full bloom in rural McLean County, which makes the sight even more breathtaking when the county gets to experience a vibrant sunset. Sunflowers are ready for harvest with the back of the flower heard turns brown.

Hoeven tours with BOR to discuss local water supply projects
A North Dakota legislator not only toured McLean County water supply projects last week, but he did so with leaders from the Bureau of Reclamation in hopes to advance the process between parties.
Coming Together for a Cause
Visitors looking to support a great cause while enjoying locally grown bluegrass can look forward to this Saturday, July 30th’s 10th annual Bluegrass goes Pink hosted by Jill Wiese and bluegrass band, Cotton Wood, at the Cross Ranch State Park. Bluegrass goes Pink is a yearly fundraiser for the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation, where Wiese works as an RN.
About $6,00 raised during Wild in Wilton
Although higher temperatures might have played into a lower turnout than normal for Wild in Wilton Day, organizers still were able to raise thousands of dollars to go toward future projects.
