Sheridan County 2009 Achievement Day results
Results of the Sheridan County Achievement Day held on Thursday July 16, at the 4-H building on the Hoffer Lake site, included the following project participants and their placement:
Centennial Fashion Revue huge success!
The County Centennial celebration on July 17, 18, and 19, included a Fashion Revue on Saturday afternoon in the McClusky High School auditorium.
Choice Financial Group held its annual customer appreciation supper on July 14 at the Goodrich American Legion Hall in spite of rainy and windy weather.
Midsummer Centennial celebration hosts large crowd
The crowd was diverse and choosey! They came to see tractors and eat barbecued ribs.
Raises and reductions for school staff
Hours were cut but pay raises were “across the board,” except for the ruling board (school). The decisions came at the July annual budget meeting and the regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 14.
The fresh air and friendly atmosphere of his home county of Sheridan may account for why Hilmer Zimbelman has reached 91 years of age and remained spry and healthy. The former Sheridan County Treasurer and Register of Deeds, Zimbelman takes only a small dose of aspirin daily, as a medication.
City hears plans for change, activities
The McClusky City Council enjoyed news of change and activities for the area at their regular meeting on July 6.
Horizons survey underway
Horizons members will attempt to reach a good portion of the 58463-area residents for input concerning the community regarding the Horizons plan to address poverty.
Deputy doing work he always wanted to do
“I always wanted to be a deputy for as long as I can remember,” stated Christopher Kluth, the newest member of the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Department staff.
