Aggies roll past Stanley, improve to 3-0

The Velva/Drake-Anamoose/Garrison football team continued its unbeaten start to the season Friday, Sept. 4, earning a decisive 34-6 victory over Stanley.
Playing on its home field in Velva, the Aggies delivered big plays on offense, defense and special teams to improve to 3-0. Stanley was held to six points as the VDAG defense turned in another strong performance.
Head coach Matt Weidler said explosive offensive plays helped the Aggies flip the field and take control of the contest.
“Offensively we were able to hit a few explosive plays, which really changes the field,” Weidler said. “The offensive line did another great job up front this week, and we got the run game going with Logan.”
The victory continued a strong opening stretch for an Aggies offense that scored 44 points in its season-opening win over Valley City. After grinding out a 6-0 victory against Harvey/Wells County in Week 2, VDAG found its offensive rhythm again against Stanley.
