GARRISON —  After a terse four quarters last Thursday evening, the Garrison Lady Troopers successfully diffused the Lewis & Clark-Berthold Bombers in a close 59-55.
While the Lady Troopers maintained a nice lead during the first quarter, thanks to Kaitlyn Zook, Mia Gehring, and Cara and Emily Schlehr, the Lady Bombers caught up in the second quarter, tying the score at half-time 29-29.
Berthold’s Mya Neshem, a junior 5-8 forward, contributed 13 of the 29 points, which were spread out pretty evenly during the first and second quarters while her fellow starters Aubree Schepp, Kasey Simons and Aubree Schepp, chipped in more during the second quarter.
About halfway through the second quarter, the game turned on its heel in Berthold’s favor; while the Lady Troopers caught up with two minutes to spare, the two teams tied back and forth before ending in the 29-29 stalemate at the half.
