Boxing comes to White Shield
Community hosts State Junior Olympics

Three boxers from White Shield have advanced to regional competition following this past weekend’s North Dakota State Junior Olympics Boxing Tournament. Moving on to compete regionally are Tate Connors, Cody Dixon and Bobby Dean.
The three, along with a number of boxers from across the state, converged on White Shield to enter the squared circle in the school gym. Connors, Dixon and Dean, along with a handful of other boxers, will now take the next step, competing in the Region 10 Tournament in Minot, June 2-3. Region 10 consists of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. Winners at the regional tournament will advance to the Junior Olympic National Tournament in Mobile, Alabama in July. Teams participating this past weekend at White Shield represented Sisseton, S.D., Fairview, Mont., Grafton, Standing Rock and Minot.
Named junior best boxer was Tony Narro, Grafton. Senior Best Boxer was Bobby Dean, White Shield
