Center-Stanton No. 1 for District 10

Three-way tie between Wildcats, Miners and Comets broken by random drawing

BY ALYSSA MEIER

The top seed going into this week’s District 10 girls tournament was determined by a random drawing on Monday night, after three local teams ended the regular season with the same record.

As Center-Stanton was bested by Underwood Monday evening, district standings were tossed up in the air. The Comets’ three-point victory over the Wildcats put Underwood, Center-Stanton and Wilton-Wing at a three-way tie, all sitting on a 5:1 record.

To break the tie, school officials drew for the No. 1 seed on Monday night, with Center-Stanton coming out victorious. With Wilton-Wing taking down Underwood earlier in the season, the Miners would take the No. 2 seed and leave Underwood at No. 3.
