Clearing the hurdles

Klein, Syvertson, Krebsbach place at state meet

Three student athletes from the region placed at the North Dakota State Track & Field Meet this past weekend in Bismarck. Karli Klein and TJ Syvertson, both from Garrison, and Summer Krebsbach from South Prairie-Max all placed in their respective events: Klein took third place
in the 100 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles, Syvertson placed fifth in the 300 meter hurdles and Krebsbach took sixth place in the 100 meter dash.

Klein took third place in the 100 meter hurdle preliminaries with a time of 16.11. In t h e f i n a l s , she also took third place with a time
of 15.91; both times, she was preceded by Kelsie Belquist of New Rockford and Elsa Ingebrigtson of Kindred. In the 300 meter hurdles, Klein took sixth in the preliminaries at 47.81 but then took fourth in the finals with a time of 46.60. Syvertson took 14th in the 110 meter hurdles at
17.40 and did not qualify for the finals. However, in the 300 meter hurdles, he took sixth with a qualifying time of 42.67 and went on to take fifth place in the finals at 42.06. In the boys triple jump, sophomore Avery Klein took sixteenth place with a distance of 39-06.75.
