Elementary race report: First edition

Sept. 1, marked the first practice for the Bob Callies Elementary Cross Country runners. Runners in 3rd-6th grade are welcome to join the team. Younger runners can take part in any of the races and can come to practice if they bring a guardian. The runners will have the opportunity to race at five Monday night races in Minot at Roosevelt Park and three local races at Fort Stevenson.

Sept. 14, the first of the five Monday night races took place at Roosevelt Park. Eight runners from Bob Callies Elementary School participated in the event.

Two competitors completed the girls’ 1st-3rd grade 1,000-meter run. Shelbie Myers completed her run in 0:05:55; Sadie Majeres finished in 0:06:13. Myers is in the 1st grade and Majeres is in the 2nd grade.

Three boys competed in the boys’ 1st-3rd grade 1,000 meter run. August Majeres completed his run in 0:05:27; Carter Hurt finished in 0:05:29; and Rylan Myers finished in 0:06:17. Majeres is in the 3rd grade, Myers is in the 2nd grade and Hurt is in the 1st grade.
