Essler sets school record

The Garrison-Max Troopers speedster, Robyn Essler, continues to burn up the track as the regional meet nears. Robyn has already etched her name on the slate of those qualified for the state meet. But she wasn’t satisfied. This past week the speedy eighth grader shaved more ticks of the stopwatch off her already state qualifying time at a meet in New Salem.
In the 400m dash, Robyn was clocked in a time of 59.84. That time is a personal best. It’s also a new school benchmark in the distance.
Coach Bill Melaas said he’s looking to get Jon Price qualified for state, as well as a relay team or two.
