Experienced Garrison Troopers set sights on State as new season tips off
With opening week just days away, the Garrison Troopers girls basketball team enters the 2025–26 season as a confident and seasoned group, one that Head Coach Matt Chase believes is poised for a special run.
Early practices have brought energy, crisp execution, and, perhaps most importantly, belief.
“So far we are feeling pretty good,” Chase said. “I think bringing back as much experience as we did, everyone—including myself—feels very confident in the early stages of the season.”
That experience shows across a roster anchored by senior leadership and balanced by young, emerging contributors.
Returning veterans such as Cara Schlehr, Sadie Majeres, Morgan Torr, Isabelle Rime, and Abigail Heinzen give Garrison both size and skill at multiple positions, while underclassmen like Jordyn Butman, Khloe Jerome, and Addyson Iglehart add depth and athleticism.
The Troopers also have promising youth in eighth-grader McCall Chase and seventh-grader Peyton Rime, along with ninth-grade center Sienna Starr, standing 5’10”.
Chase said the team’s goals remain consistent with the standards the program has set in recent years.
