G-M girls golf opens strong

The season for the Garrison-Max girls golf team couldn’t have started out any better.
The Trooper girls began the season, winning a rain-shortened meet at Rugby by 12 strokes over the host team. Three other teams were more strokes off the pace.
“Our girls did very well and expected to do even better had the second nine holes not been called by the rain,” said Coach Randy Belisle.
The coach went on to say that conditions were extremely windy with a constant 30-mph wind and a cold spell in the morning.
“Each team struggled to do well with the elements, but our girls did a great job and had wonderful attitudes and spirits throughout the day,” Belisle said.
