G-M Troopers fail in region bid

The championship match for District 10 volleyball at Wilton this past week saw Turtle-Lake-Mercer-McClusky clash with Center-Stanton. In the end, the Trojans prevailed 3-1 to take the title.
Regional qualifier games for District 10 were Underwood vs. Garrison-Max with G-M falling short to a 3-1 win by Underwood. Lastly, Washburn wins with a 3-0 shutout against Wilton-Wing. The Comets and Cardinals advanced to Region 5 play Monday, while the season ended for the Troopers and Miners.
In Region 5 opening round action Monday in Underwood, quarterfinals saw District 9 #4 seed Flasher dispose of District 10’s #1 TLMM 3-1. District 9 #2 Shiloh Christian turned back District 10 #3 Underwood 3-0.
In evening action, District 9 #1 seed Grant County wasted little time, rolling past District 9 #4 Washburn 3-0.
District 10’s #2, Center-Stanton, blew past District 9 New Salem-Almont by a 3-0 count. Play resumes today (Thursday).
District 10 awards:
