Garrison archers take first
There were six first places achieved by different Garrison NASP archers in their respective divisions at the Richardton-Taylor Tournament this past weekend.
Garrison’s fifth grader, Jacob Hagen ended up taking first place in both 3-D and Bullseye.
"I was extremely happy that I shot two personal bests,” Hagen said. “I just want to shoot the same way I did in Richardton to qualify for nationals.”
Other first placers were Paisley Beyer, Hayden Skraba, McKesden Steele, and Twaney Janse Van Rensburg.
Archers from ten schools competed in the tournament.
Garrison High School and Garrison Middle School took first place overall in the team competitions.
“This tournament was the last before (the state tournament) and it would be the one that put the mental test to the kids,” Garrison NASP head coach Donald Franklin said. “Once again, they did great and should have good vibes going into state tournament.”
Franklin added, “The kids have showed us every tournament what they are capable of and we as coaches hope they can wrap it all together one more time.”
