Ellie Gehring and Marc Gratton are this year’s Trooper Coed Mini-Camp outstanding campers. The camp concluded its week-long run this past Friday with an awards ceremony at Roy Schei Gym.
The camp, under the direction of Garrison’s Jason Mattheis and Sandra Essler, targets the fundamentals of basketball with emphasis on shooting, ball handling and defensive and offensive techniques. Each participant competes for special awards at the camp.
Most valuable players this year were Bennet Kamp, Dylan Bayer, Matt Pease, Karli Klein, Emily Jaeger and Shelby Gehring.
Mattheis said 115 youth participated in this year’s camp. He noted a number of campers came from out-of-town.
“It was a good camp,” he said. “The kids had a lot of fun. Everyone worked hard and they had a good time.”
