GHS Science Dept. receives donation

Submitted by Andrew Hennessey

The Douglas Sportman’s Club has given $2,650 to the science department at Garrison High School for the purchase of new scientific equipment. The grant is intended to enhance the school’s offerings for project-based learning (PBL) opportunities for students in grades 7-12. Some of the equipment purchased included a metal-casting furnace, a rock-polishing machine, a quadcopter drone with video feed, a Tesla coil for high voltage experiments and a 1/32 scale car track set for motion experiments. This is the second year that the club has funded PBL activities at GHS.
