GHS tracksters compete at Parshall, Glenburn
The Garrison Varsity Track team was able to squeeze in two meets last week in between bouts of bad weather.
Last Thursday, the team headed to Parshall High School for a 24-team invitational.
Thanks to favorable conditions, the girls’ sprinters and hurdlers each turned in a personal or season-best performance.
“Great to get outside and compete in some decent weather,” Troopers Head Coach Jason Ermer said. “We had lots of PR's and Season bests. We have seen improvements in several areas this year.”
The Troopers went to the Glenburn Invitational at the Duane Carlson Stadium in Minot.
“Glenburn on Saturday was much the same, although a little cooler when that wind hit,” Ermer said. “We have some small injuries sustained at Parshall and Glenburn meets, but we hope that those are healed up by Friday so we can be close to full strength.”
The Troopers ran on Tuesday at the Hazen Last Chance Meet, which will be covered in next week’s McLean County independent along with the results of the Northwest Regional Meet back at Duane Carlson Stadium.
