Impressive Districts for Lady Troopers

By TYSON SMEDSTAD
It was a tough first game in the Districts Tournament for the #4 seeded Lady Troopers. Final score was Garrison 45, # 5 seeded Center-Stanton 47.
The girls traveled to Washburn for their first game against the Wildcats. The team lost during the regular season to the Center-Stanton,  39 to 40, so they were hoping to redeem themselves during the District Tournament match-up.
Unfortunately after a close first half of the game the Wildcats came back in the second half to squeak out a win.
Cedar Perkins had a impressive game with 13 points by hitting four of her three point shots and a free throw.
Their next game was the Region Tournament qualifying round against Washburn on Saturday.
The girls beat the Cardinals earlier in the season, so they were expected to take the win again.
The score stayed close in the first quarter, but the Troopers started their domination in the second up 24 to Washburn’s 12.
