Johnson takes speedway feature

The McLean County Speedway was fast and smooth Thursday night making for terrific racing conditions at the speedway.

Even when drizzle started during the IMCA Sport Mod feature and continued through the IMCA Modified race, "Drivers were challenged by the wet track conditions, but in a professional fashion. They made it stick through every lap to finish all 25 laps of the modified feature," commented Speedway President Beau Simmons.

Wayne Johnson, feature winner of the IMCA Modifieds, is now qualified for the 2016 Fast Shafts ballot, for the invitational race at the Super Nationals in Boone Iowa the first week of September 2016. The Modified race paid $1,000 to win and $200 just to start the feature.

The next and final race of the season is Aug. 27th. Races were scheduled for Aug. 13th, but due to conflicting schedules, it was decided to cancel that race so everyone could have a chance to run the championship night.
