Junior high girls basketball canceled

It may sound like a sad scenario, but there is an upside.
Due to the lack of players signed up for junior high girls basketball, the coaching staff along with the athletic director Jason Ermer have made the decision to cancel the season.
As of now there were only 10 girls signed up to play high school basketball and of those one is questionable with an injury. On the junior high side, there were only nine girls and of those only one is a seventh grader. With only 19 committed players total it would be difficult to field three teams this year.
Ermer came up with five different options to discuss.
“This wasn’t a quick decision, the coaches and I got together and discussed it at length and decided what would be best for the program,” said Ermer.
It is not a decision they took lightly.
