GARRISON – In their first home game of the season, the Garrison Lady Troopers demonstrated their prowess with a 54-37 win over the DesLacs-Burlington Lakers Monday evening. The Lady Troopers’ victory also marked the third consecutive loss for the Region 6, District 12 team, who started the season off with an extremely narrow 36-35 win over Harvey/Wells County, but then fell to Tioga and Westhope/Newburg, losing both by a deficit in the teens. The Lady Troopers started and ended the first quarter with a three-point basket,
courtesy of Mia Gehring and Cara Schlehr, both of whom not only contributed the majority of three-pointers in the game but also – along with Emily Schlehr, scored 12 points each throughout the game. Cara Schlehr made her mark during the first quarter, scoring nine points, along with the aforementioned three-pointer with about 30 seconds left on the clock. While she was silent in the second quarter, another
three was made in the third quarter.
