Max/South Prairie track team shines at meet
The Max/South Prairie track and field team opened their season last Tuesday at the Braves Indoor Meet at Turtle Mountain Invite.
“The Braves Indoor Meet was our first meet of the year and more of a test meet to see where all our athletes stand,” Royals Head Track and Field Coach Lance Pitner said. “We had a lot of promising finishes with all our runners. The Braves meet was perfect for breaking the ice and setting a standard for the athletes and we are hoping to do even better at this upcoming meet in Minot.”
The Royals ran multiple eighth-graders at the meet. Many finishing in the Top 20.
“We also had our top sprinter finish with an equivalent to state qualifying time in the open 100.
The Troopers will compete in the CNDC at the Minot State Dome on Thursday. Results will be in next week’s McLean County Independent.
