Tyler Villarreal has the makings of a rodeo champion. At only 12 years old, he will ride in his second world competition for rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Today, (Thursday) Tyler will compete in the Mini Bareback and Saddle Bronc World Championship.
“He qualified down in Montpelier through Lazy 3S Rodeo Company,” Robbie, Tyler’s dad, said. “He finished 2nd or third but qualified for state and was the reserve champion in state so he went to regionals in Rock Spring, Wyoming where he took 4th. They only took the top eight to Vegas.”
Surprisingly, all Tyler’s success is seen in his first year doing bareback.
Tyler said he decided to try the new area of rodeo because of his smaller stature.
