Price, Essler set cross-country records

The Garrison Troopers Cross Country team traveled to the Mandan Municipal Golf Course on Saturday Sept. 11, for the 17th Annual Kiwanis Invitational meet. The weather conditions consisted of sunny skies with a 70 degree temperature. Northwest winds were 15 mph with gusts up to 28 mph.
The varsity boys’ Class A and B 5,000 meters started the day with 101 runners finishing the course. Jonathan Price completed the course in a time of 17:09 for a 24th place finish overall and 6th Class B runner to cross the line. This time was his personal best time at this distance. The team of one took 15th place out of 19 teams.
The varsity girls’ Class A and B 4000 meters consisted of 106 runners completing the race. Robyn Essler crossed the line with a time of 16:49 for a 45th place finish overall and the 7th Class B runner to cross the line. This was her personal best time at this distance and a new Garrison Girls’ Cross Country 4,000-meter record. The team of one took 14th place out of 19 teams.
