Royals fall to Stanley, still searching for first win of the season
The South Prairie-Max Royals hosted the Stanley Blue Jays on Friday, September 26, hoping to secure their first victory of the 2025 campaign.
Instead, the Royals struggled to find consistency on both sides of the ball and came up short in a 41-12 defeat at South Prairie High School.
The Blue Jays wasted little time taking control, striking early with a long touchdown drive in the first quarter to open their scoring.
Stanley’s offense relied heavily on its ground game, wearing down the Royals’ defensive front and creating mismatches at the line of scrimmage.
The Royals found some rhythm in the contest, stringing together a couple drives capped by touchdowns that gave their home crowd reason to cheer.
However, defensive lapses continued to plague the team, as Stanley responded with another scoring series to push the margin wider heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Blue Jays put the game firmly out of reach. A combination of explosive plays and steady execution allowed Stanley to extend its lead, while the Royals struggled to sustain drives.
