Troopers drop regular season finale
The Garrison Troopers closed their regular season on the road Tuesday, October 21, with a straight-set loss to New England, falling 25-23, 25-17, 25-20.
Despite competitive stretches throughout the match, the Troopers were unable to break through late in sets, finishing the night 0-3 as they now turn their attention to the upcoming Division B, District 8 Volleyball Tournament at Underwood High School.
Garrison opened the first set with energy, staying within a point or two through much of the frame.
The Troopers pushed New England into a late-set battle, but the hosts strung together a short scoring run in the final moments to secure a 25-23 win.
In the second set, New England created separation earlier, using service pressure and quick transitions to keep Garrison off balance on defense, resulting in a 25-17 decision.
The third set saw Garrison regain momentum early, staying tight with New England and trailing by only a possession midway through the frame.
