Shootout draws 15 teams

Boys basketball didn’t take a holiday over this past week’s Christmas break.

Fifteen teams converged on Max and Garrison this past Friday and Saturday for the annual McLean County Shootout. Teams participating from McLean County included Garrison, Max, Underwood, Washburn, Wilton-Wing and White Shield. Joining them were teams from Center-Stanton, Glen Ullin-Hebron, Kidder County, New England, New Town, Richardton-Taylor, Sawyer, Williston Trinity christian and Warcick.

County teams, including Center-Stanton but excluding Wilton-Wing, played two games, as did Glen Ullin-Hebron, Richardton-Taylor and Warwick. The others, Kidder County, New England, New Town, Sawyer and Williston Trinity Christian, each played one contest.

Tournament officials said attendance was light, but response from visiting coaches was positive.
