State ranked Bombers humble Troop

The Garrison Troopers boys basketball team continues its run against some of the top teams in the state. Hazen and Berthold (No. 3 in the state) were the most recent competition for the Troop.
Though both were losses, giving Garrison a 5-4 record, the experience gained by playing some of the best there is should prove valuable in the long run.
Monday, the Troopers fought hard, coming within five late in the fourth quarter, but the Berthold squad had just too much firepower, winning 80-57.
The three-pronged attack of Alex Bloms (27 points), big Dan Yale (26 points) and Austin Lee (12 points) was just too much to overcome. The Troopers’ own triple threat, Ian MacDonald (18 points), Brookes Reinholt (15 points) and Mykle Rud (15 points), had strong games, but it wasn’t enough.
This past Saturday, the Troopers trekked to Hazen to take on the Bison, another high-powered offensive team. In the end, the Bison won out 73-58.
This past Thursday, the Troopers flexed their muscle against perennial District 10 powerhouse Wilton, defeating the Miners 63-48. The game wasn’t that close. Garrison led 40-16 at the half. Ian was unstoppable, putting up the rock for 27 points. Mykle added 14 and Brookes 12.
