Titans Baseball fundraiser planned

“Take me out to the ball game, take me out with the crowd …” The words are familiar and the sport of baseball is classic.
While theTitans baseball program includes players from Garrison and other local communities, all home games are played on Garrison’s Legion field. Therein lies the problem – according to players, parents and fans, the field and its facilities are in dire need of an upgrade.
“Phase1” of the project is to provide the Legion field with a batting cage, scoreboard and public address system. There will also be a concession stand with restrooms, and space for storage. The building will feature a second-story press box.
Also included in the initial phase will be a grass (sod) infield and a sprinkler system to assist with maintenance of the field’s grass. Agrilime and clay blocks will be used for the pitcher’s mound.
Accommodations for fans will include bleachers on a concrete slab. For added comfort, there will be a structure to provide shade.
“Phase 2,” for the Titans youth fields, will include upgrades to the fields and improved seating for spectators.
