Titans continues streak of victories

The Garrison Titans put together one of their most complete stretches of the young American Legion season last week, combining dominant pitching performances with a relentless offensive attack to earn a pair of convincing road victories over LaMoure Post 19 and Hettinger.
Garrison opened the trip on Wednesday, June 10, with a 16-1 victory over LaMoure before following it up with a 10-1 win at Hettinger on Thursday, June 11.
The Titans outscored their opponents 26-2 across the two contests while collecting 27 hits and receiving two outstanding starts from Matt Jochim and Grady Crawford.
Head coach Gage Gehring said the team entered both games with confidence thanks to the consistency of its starting pitchers.
“We knew going into those games that we had great opportunities to win those games due to how well Grady and Matt have pitched thus far,” Gehring said. “Knowing that allowed us to enter each game with confidence both in the field and at the plate. We thrive off of quick innings in the field, which both pitchers produced in those games.”
Against LaMoure, the Titans broke open a scoreless contest in the second inning before unleashing an offensive barrage over the next three frames.
Garrison took a 1-0 lead in the second and then erupted for six runs in the third inning to seize control. The Titans were far from finished, however, adding nine more runs in the fourth inning to put the game well out of reach.
The offense finished with 13 hits and featured production throughout the lineup.
