Girls advance 12th straight time; Tomlinson’s fourth
By STU MERRY

A dozen sounds nice for the Garrison-Max girls golf team. Four sounds just as nice for the Troopers’ Levi Tomlinson.
The girls team claimed another regional title this past Thursday in Garrison to advance for an unprecedented 12th straight time to the state meet.
While the boys team failed to qualify as a team at Rolla, senior Levi Tomlinson earned medalist honors and will advance to state play for the fourth straight year. For his efforts, Levi was named Region 4 senior athlete of the year. Pretty good for a golfer who placed fourth at state last year.
Coach Mark Harris shared that Levi has improved each year he has competed, going from 78th to 60th to 4th his first three trips. This year?
“Levi knows he has a chance to contend,” Harris said. “I believe he does, too.”
Harris said if Levi plays well, he is capable of improving on a fourth place finish.
