Neither rain, nor wind, nor chilly temperatures could keep the Trooper runners from competing in the 16th annual Booster Club Invitational meet at the Rugby Golf course on Saturday, Oct. 3. 40-degree temperatures, a light rain during the whole competition, and a light wind challenged all of the runners.
Katherine White, Grade 2, was the lone Trooper Elementary girl runner, and she completed the 1,600-meter run in a time of 9:14 for a 28th place finish out of 57 runners. She kept a nice pace during the whole race.
Eddie White Bear, Grade 4, was the lone Trooper Elementary boy runner and he competed the 1,600-meter run in a time of 8:35 for a 15th place finish out of 47 runners. Eddie has been a steady runner this whole season.
The junior high girls’ 3,000-meters included two Trooper runners. Robyn Essler finished 7th in a time of 12:45. She was the second Class B runner to cross the finish line. Jessica Dimitch brought in a time of 14:05 for a 28th place finish. This was her best time for the season at this distance. There were 58 runners in this race.
