Troopers and Warriors show up at shootout

WASHBURN – Garrison’s Lady Troopers and White Shield’s Lady Warriors basketball teams spent Dec. 2-3 in Washburn competing
in the McLean County Shootout. The teams played two games each against teams from across McLean County and the region. Garrison Lady Troopers In the Trooper’s two contests, the group squared off against Beulah on Friday and Glen Ullin/Hebron Saturday, winning both contests. Game one started off well for Garrison with the girls jumping out to a 14-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Beulah’s team was able to slowly chip away at the Trooper’s lead throughout the second quarter, cutting it to as little as three on two separate occasions. As time expired in the first half, Garrison’s leading scorer in the contest, Mia Gehring, nailed a deep threepointer to set the score at 27-21 in Garrison’s favor entering halftime.
