Troopers beat Tioga at their Homecoming game

BY TYSON SMEDSTAD
It was cold and drizzly throughout the entire game. The field looked rough and muddy, much like the players post-game.
The first quarter was a tennis match. The Troopers pressed but could never make it happen.
Towards the end of the first quarter, quarterback Carson Calhoun threw a long pass to Jacob Hodges for a 73 yard play. This single play got the Troops riled up heading into the second.
That turned into a touch down by Ty Iglehart (12) two minutes in. Jacob Mautz made good on the two-point conversion. Garrison 8, Tioga 0.
Jacob Hodges had an impressive game with long runs and tough tackles.
Clay Bendickson pulled double duty with 30 seconds left in the half by scoring a touch down and running in a two-point conversion. This brought the score to Troopers 16, Tioga 0.
